O'Donohoe - Richardson
One of the prettiest weddings ever performed in Electra took place
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
A.N. Richardson, June 29, when the beautiful and accomplished
daughter, Miss Norma A.
Richardson was given in marriage to Mr. Joseph O'Donohoe, one of
Electra's popular and
progressive young men. The ceremony was most impressive, being
performed by the Rev. T.E.
Cannon, of the First M.E. Church. The wedding march was played by
Miss Julia Struvie of Taylor,
Texas and Miss Lena Struvie rendered a beautiful vocal solo, "Oh
Promise Me." The bride
centered upon the arm of her father and the groom was assisted by
his brother, John, who was
his best man. Pink and white streamers were hung from all sides of
the room, forming a canopy
under which the happy couple stood while the ceremony was being
performed. The bride made a
most beautiful appearance, being dressed in Brussels net over
white satin, a filmy white veil
and lovely Cream La Frances roses. The beautiful costume and flush
on the cheeks of the bride
made a dazzling picture of beauty. The groom made a handsome
appearance. His upright bearing
and firm answers made a fine impression.

Thought License Was All That Was Necessary
When Pete Pappas, a Greek restaurant man secured a license several
weeks ago to marry Miss Lela
M. King he believed that was the only act necessary to legalize a
marriage. The bride to be
different know any different and it was only this morning that
they were told that there were
other proceedings necessary to make them man and wife. The couple
at once repaired to the court
house where Justice Brothers completed the necessary formalities.

Shortly after the divorce suit of Lena Sparks vs. Stephen Sparks
was given to the jury
yesterday evening, an agreement was reached and the case was
withdrawn from the jury. Under the
agreement, Mrs. Sparks was given a divorce and half of the real
estate involved in the
controversy. She was also given the custody of the one child a
little girl.

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER IN DOUBLE WEDDING
A mother and daughter were brides in a double wedding in Wichita
Falls Tuesday night. They were
Mrs. Annie Schmidt and Miss Lena Schmidt. Mrs. Schmidt was married
to J.T. Richards and her
daughter to James A. King. Rev. C.F. Mayer, pastor of the First
Church of the Evangelical
Association performed both ceremonies which took place at the home
of both of the brides at 208
Elm street. Nearly a hundred relatives and friends witnessed the
ceremonies, followed which
refreshments were served.

Hightower - Gordon Nuptials
The quiet but impressive wedding of Oscar Hightower, the pianist
and teacher of Sagamore Hill
on interurban, Fort Worth and Miss Bertha Estelle Gordon, who has
been living here a short
while with her uncle S.A. Youngblood, was solemnized Friday
evening at 502 Travis avenue, Rev.
J.P. Boone, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. Mr.
Hightower is well known to
music circles in Fort Worth and Dallas. His composition both vocal
and instrumental, have
received favorable criticism from eminent musicians of this
country. The bride also possesses
great musical talent and is a pianist of unusual ability. Mr.
Hightower intends to remain here
and open a studio. Mr. and Mrs. Hightower are at home at the
Westland Hotel.

REV. O.T. COOPER RETURNS WITH BRIDE
Rev. O.T. Cooper, pastor of the M.E. Church, South, accompanied by
his bride, arrived this
afternoon from Cleburne, where the marriage took place yesterday
morning. They are now at home
at the parsonage on Tenth street. The bride was formerly Miss
Jennie Hill Cyrus, a daughter of
Capt. C.V. Cyrus, a prominent citizen of that place. The ceremony
was pronounced at 9:30
o'clock the Revs. C.R. Barcus and W.H. Mathews officiating.

Wheat - Williamson Nuptials
Miss Altha Wheat, daughter of W.H. Wheat who is superintending the
construction of the federal
building at this place, was married last evening at 8 o'clock at
the family home, 907 Travis
street, to Mr. Howard Williamson of Ohio, Rev. O.T. Cooper pastor
of the M.E. Church, South,
officiating. Only the relatives and a few intimate friends
witnessed the happy event, the
wedding being a very quiet one. The happy couple have not decided
whether they will return to
the Ohio home of the groom, or remain in this city, but are more
inclined to make their home in
Wichita Falls.

Nicholson - Yeager Nuptials
In the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends
Miss Fredda Nicholson and
Ambrose Yeager were united in marriage at the home of the bride's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B.
Nicholson near the at about ? o'clock Sunday afternoon. Following
which luncheon was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeager are now at home at 1702 Burnett, where the
groom has purchased an
attractive residence.

couple left on the night train for Austin where they will spend a
few days and will then take
up their residence at New Hope, where Mr. Chapman is engaged in
the drug business.

ELECTRA COUPLE WED HERE SUNDAY
Miss Blanche Ferguson, of Electra, Texas and Will W. Brown,
cashier of the First National Bank
of the same place were married Sunday in the private apartments of
the groom's parents at the
Westland Hotel. The ceremony was most beautiful and impressive,
Rev. Cooper of the First M.E.
Church, South, officiating. Owing to the illness of the father of
the groom, the wedding was
very quiet and will come as a surprise to the many friends of the
contracting parties as the
wedding was not announced in advance. The bridal party, consisting
of a few relatives, partook
of a sumptuous spread at the Westland, after which the happy
couple left on the Denver going
east.

parents at 308 Burnett street at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening, Rev.

with the bride's parents.

held in the highest esteem by all. They will go immediately to

Surprises Friends Here
El Paso and Los Angeles papers just received here contain accounts
of the marriage of C.L.
Fontaine, general freight and passenger agent of the Wichita Falls
Route to Mrs. Susie Cherry
Campbell, at Los Angeles Sept. 14. Mr. Fontaine and his bride are
expected to arrive in Wichita
Falls next Monday. The following announcement of the marriage is
taken from an El Paso paper.
Of interest to a large number of El Pasoans will be the news
received by Mrs. R.F. Campbell
announcing the marriage of her daughter in law, Mrs. Susie Cherry
Campbell to C.L. Fontaine on
Thursday, September 14 in Los Angeles, Cal. The bride who was the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Cherry, grew to womanhood in this city and received her
education in the El Paso
schools. She was one of El Paso's most attractive and most popular
women, was well known in
social circles and has here a host of friends. Mr. Fontaine at one
time resided in El Paso, but
most recently had resided in Galveston and Wichita Falls, Texas.
He is largely identified with
the rail road interests of Texas, being the general freight and
passenger for the Wichita Falls
and Southern railroad. Mr. and Mrs. Fontaine have gone to Denver
on their bridal tour after
which they will be at home in Wichita Falls.

Mr. George C. Wheat of White Horse, Okla. Came to Allendale last
Saturday. Mr. Wheat came
merely to visit. However, he was quietly married at the home of

Ludolphus to Miss Zora Herndon. The bride is a charming young lady
and loved by all who know
her. The happy couple will make their home in Oklahoma. Their many

happiness in their new home.

Bachman - Rankin
The large home of W.H. Bachman was filled with friends and
relatives on last Monday evening,
Sept. 25th, when Miss Ida Bachman, the charming daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. W.H. Bachman was given
in marriage to Alvin Rankin of Durant, Okla. At 8:30 as Miss
Lillian Bachman played softly
Mendelson's Wedding March, the bride came down the stairs
accompanied by her maid of honor Miss
Imogene Brown. At the foot of the stair she was met by the groom
and his best man, Mr. Will
Bachman. Taking their places beneath a beautiful floral arch, the
Rev. Cooper made them man and
wife. At the conclusion of the ceremony a reception was held. Miss
Lillian Bachman and Miss
Wheeler both becomingly gowned in white, served punch. While in
the dining room which was
beautiful in its decoration of pink and white roses and ferns here
and there and tiny cupids,
held count, while Mrs. Bachman assisted by Mrs. W.W. Brown and
others served cream and cake.
The bride was charming in her gown of white duchess satin, pearl
trimmings, with white veil,
held in place with tiny white rose buds. Miss Imogene Brown, her
maid of honor, being gowned
in white marquisette over blue taffeta. After a short wedding
trip, Mr. and Mrs. Rankin will be
at home to their friends in Durant, Okla.

Rucks Rigsby Nuptials
Much surprise was manifested on the streets today by friends of
the pair, when it was learned
that the marriage of Oscar Rigsby to Mrs. S.C. Rucks, took place
last night at eight o'clock at
the home of the groom's parents, corner of Fifteenth and Travis
streets. The groom is twenty
five and the bride is fifty. But few witnesses were present at the
ceremony and an effort was
made to keep the affair secret, but in spite of all endeavors, the
news leaked out and upon
investigation was confirmed by witnesses. The groom is a promising
young man of this city and
has been employed for the last year or more as the manager of the
Ruck's Hotel on Seventh
street. The bride only last Thursday returned from a trip to
Massachusetts, where she had been
visiting friends and relatives for a long while. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. J.P. Boone
and only immediate friends of the family were admitted as
witnesses. The newly wedded couple
will make their home at the Ruck's Hotel on Eighth street.

The double wedding of Miss Frances Blair Lysaght to William A.
Francis and Miss Margaret
Lysaght to Montague Staniforth for which invitations had been
issued for next Wednesday has
been indefinitely postponed on account of the illness of both the
brides to be with diphtheria.
ELLIS ROBERTSON WEDS MISS SUNSHINE HOUSER
The friends of the bride and groom in this city were taken by
surprise Tuesday upon learning of
the marriage of Ellis Robertson of this city to Miss Eltheyn
Houser Keller of Dallas, the
ceremony taking place in that city Sunday evening. The ceremony
was performed by Rev. M.M.
Davis of the Christian Church of Dallas, at the home of the
bride's adoptive parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J.F. Keller, 4221 San Jacinto street, Dallas, Texas. But few
friends who witnessed the
wedding and the affair as in the nature of a secret surprise
planned by the young couple. Mr.
and Mrs. Ellis Robertson are now at home 906 Scott avenue in this
city, the home of the groom's
parents. The bride formerly resided here where her many graces won
her many friends. The groom
is a son of W.W. Robertson of the Wichita Ice Company and is a
young businessman who has a most
promising future.

Montgomery. She also asks for an
injunction restraining the defendant from selling ?? property

temper.

o'clock this afternoon to Mr. B.F. Terry of Dallas, Texas. The

of the bride's parents on Tenth street and was witnessed by a
number of friends. The couple
left following the ceremony for Dallas where they will make their
home, Mr. Terry being the
manager of the Oriental Oil Company there. The marriage is the
happy culmination of a
friendship that began several years ago when the groom was manager
of the same oil company
here. The happy couple were recipients of many handsome presents.

The marriage of Mr. Albert Gerdeman and Miss Grace Hebing occurred
at the home of the bride's
parents Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Hebing, Twelfth street at high noon. The
ceremony was performed Rev.
Hamlin in a few of the most intimate friends and relatives. The
young couple are both well
known in society circles especially in the Christian Church and
have a large number of warm
friends who extend to them the best of wishes for a long and happy
life. The bride is a
charming young lady who has made her home here for several years.
The groom is a machinist by
trade and is a fine young man. He has been a resident of the city
a year ago and in that time
has built up a warm friendship with all who knows him.

Turnpaugh is an electrician employed with the Falls Electric
Company and at the new Lydia
Margaret Theatre. The bride has been employed at the telephone
