Here is the information that Mrs. Glass has regarding the cemetery:

In 1822, Samuel Knox and Elizabeth Marable Pettus purchased a North Carolina land grant of 708 acres for $1470, from George Doherty on the N. E. Dyer and Gibson County line. They moved their family and 127 slaves from Charlotte, North Carolina. Near their house they set aside a 2 acre plot for the Family Graveyard.
