The Crockett Times Alamo, Tennessee Thursday, December 16, 1948 Vol. 16 No. 42 Dr. M. E. O'Neal dies--Maury City Physician stricken by heart attack on rounds of duty--Dr. M. E. O'Neal, only practicing physician in Maury City, died about 5 p.m., Thursday afternoon after suffering a heart attack earlier in the afternoon while on a visit to a patient. He was 67. Services were held at the Maury City Methodist Church at 10:30 Saturday morning. The Rev. C. O. Frye of Friendship and the Rev. L. A. Smithmier of Maury City officiated. Burial was in Maury City Cemetery with Sudbury Funeral Home in charge. Born in Friendship, Tenn., Dr. O'Neal had practiced in Maury City since 1907. He was a member of the Maury City Methodist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Bettie Lou Park O'Neal; three daughters, Marion Terry of Dyersburg and Mrs. Marvin Agee and Miss Ernestine O'Neal, both of Maury City; a brother, Clint O'Neal of Tigrett, Tenn., and three sisters, Mrs. Ben Howell and Mrs. Margie Lipscomb, both of Memphis, and Mrs. Eldon Taylor of Trenton. |
