Funeral services for Aleck D. Burse, farmer of Gates, Route 1, who died at his home February 15, 8:45 a.m., were held at South Fork Baptist Church Monday, February 16 at 2:00 P. M. with Rev. Edgar Williams as the officiating minister. Mr. Burse, who was 61 at the time of his death, was a native of Crockett County. Burial was in Maury City Cemetery with Ronk Funeral Home in charge of the services.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Burse, children, Jessie Burse, Memphis, Willie, Raymond and Bobby Burse, Mrs. Karle Ellis of the Chestnut Bluff community; Mrs. Katherine Williams, Newbern; Elease Burse and Bearnice Burse of the Chestnut Bluff community; a brother, Bedford Burse, Cedar Grove community; and one half sister, Mrs. Emma Cathey of the Cedar Grove community.
