J. T. MATHIS ( Jacob Thomas) , Father of Mrs. W. A. Myers, Victim of Heart Disease
Mr. J. T. MATHIS , one of the most prominent planters in Gibson county, died at his
home at Oak Hill, near Medina, Sunday night. Death was due to dropsy of the heart.
Mr. MATHIS was 75 years of age. He was well known in Jackson. Mrs W. A. Myers , who
left for Medina yesterday morning , returned when the news was conveyed to her by
telegram. Mr. Myers and sons, John, Henry, and Will, also attended the funeral which
occurred Tuesday.
Mr. MATHIS was reputed to be the wealthiest man in Gibson county.
