He was the son of Irish Immigrant, Patrick Pierce Nolen, and Mary Irene Dever Nolen. Her immigrant ancestors arrived in Maryland, in 1658. Cordelia D. Laman was born 11 Sep 1877, in Crockett County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of George Washington Laman and Mary Frances Rust Laman. They were married, 11 Dec 1894, in Crockett County, Tennessee. William Neal Nolen migrated from Tipton County, Tennessee to Crockett County around 1892. He served as an Alderman in the town of Alamo and was Superintendent of the County Poor Farm from 1935 to his death, in 1941. William Nolen was a member of the Knights of the Maccabee and Woodmen of the World. He and Cordelia Nolen were Methodists. |
