Dyer Co., TN

Thank you to , who contributed this information, and the tombstone photos

The two tombstones below were found behind the New Jerusalem Temple at the end of Palmer St. in Dyersburg, in the far North East corner of the lot. There are only two gravesites there, so it may have been a family burial site at one time. It is not known if these tombstones are on the Church property or not.

From other records, I know that Louisa C.'s maiden name was Nantz. I believe this E. A. Ferguson was a brother to my gr-gr-grandfather, Albert Gallatin Ferguson. I base this on the fact that they owned adjoining land and were in business together. E. A. was not in his father's will because he died before it was written. However, there is a family history of a child named Emereth (spelling varies); and census records show a male child of E. A.'s age. The other tombstone at this site is for the little child of E. A. and Louisa C. Ferguson (although on the tombstone it is listed as C. L. Ferguson).
