Mrs. Hanora McCarty Herbers of 5154 Charlotte Circle North died at her
home at 9:45 last night after having a heart attack Monday. She was 79.
A lifelong Memphian, she was the widow of city plumbing inspector H.J.
herbers. She was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church. She leaves a son H.
L. Herbers of 5180 Poplar; three daughters, Mrs. Charles F. Zanone, Jr. of the
Charlotte address, Mrs. Edwin J. Cox of 994 No. Dunlap and Mrs. William K.
Henderson of Frayser; 18 Grandchildren and 42 Great-Grandchildren. National
Funeral Home has charge.

J. Herbers, John J. Herbers and William V. Herbers, all of Memphis; 39
grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grand-children. The

Children or Madonna Day School.

Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 12:30 p.m.
Friday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in West Tennessee
Veterans Cemetery. Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel has charge. She was
a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi and a member of Green Thumb Garden Club
and Gen's Bridge Club. Mrs. Blair, the wife of Freddy Marion Blair for 50 years,
also leaves a daughter, Karen Elizabeth Hines of Washington; two sons, Freddy M.
Blair Jr. of Germantown and Alfred S. Blair of Eads; four sisters, Ernestine
Miller, Joanne Avanzi, Barbara King and Carolyn Powers, and three brothers,
Harry Herbers, Jack Herbers and William Herbers, all of Memphis, seven

said at 11 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be
in Calvery with National Funeral Home in charge.
Born and reared in Memphis, Mrs. Pelegrin was 83. She attended St. Agnes
Academy and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She
leaves two daughters, Mrs. J. B. Green and Mrs. George Knapp Jr., both of
Memphis: three sons, John P. Pelegrin of Stovall, Miss., Herbert Pelegrin of
Sardis, Miss., and Fred E. Pelegrin of Hillhouse, Miss.; 10 grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren.

Native of
Ireland Who Came To Memphis When 14 Dies
Mrs. Kate McCarty
McAllister, who was born in Ireland and came to Memphis with her parents when
she was 14 years of age, died of a heart attack at the residence of her
granddaughter, Mrs. Charles Zanone, Jr., 952 Chelsea at 4:45 o'clock yesterday
afternoon.
Mrs. McAllister, who
was 76, suffered a stroke a week ago. Her husband, John McAllister, is a retired
riverman. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Besides her husband,
she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harry L. Herbers; four grandchildren, Mrs. Zanone,
Harry Herbers, Mrs. Ed Cox and Mrs. W. K. Henderson.
Mass will be said at
9 o'clock tomorrow morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in
Elmwood Cenetery under the direction of Thompson Brothers Mortuary.
