DIES OF HEART DISEASE
J. T. Alberts succumbs to Attack Following
Pneumonia
J. T. Alberts died
yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at his residence 689
Looney Avenue, of heart disease at the age of 63. Mr.
Alberts had been in
declining health for more than a year and during the past
two months had
been seriously ill. He had suffered an attack of pneumonia
and was thought
to be recovering when the heart attack came.
Mr. Alberts came to Memphis abut 25 years ago and was a
contractor
in concrete work. He was one of the faithful and most
devout members of
the Harris Memorial Methodist Church. Though he had no
children of his
own, he cared for and educated several of his nieces. He
is survived by his
wife, Mrs. Maggie W. Alberts.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. W. W.
Adams at the
Harris Memorial Church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and
interment will
be at Forrest Hill.
The pallbearers will be W. C. Chandler, A. J. Cook, W.
T. and R. D.
Rast, Ed Highsmith and J. M. Gunn.
