MIDDLEBURY- Mary Elizabeth Spain, 74, of 69 Bayberry Road, dies Wednesday, April 7, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of John N. Spain.
Mrs. Spain was born Jan. 27, 1925, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of the late Gilbert B. and Mary (Wyatt) Wilson. She was a Memphis resident, moving to Middlebury in 1972.
She was a member of Middlebury congregational Church. She served on the board of directors for the Girls Club and was a pastoral volunteer at Waterbury Hospital.
Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, John N. “Nick” Spain of Gross Ponte, Mich., William W. Spain of Nederland, Colo., Harrison M. Spain III of Anaheim Calif.; a brother Jack Wilson, of Memphis, Tenn., and seven grandchildren.
Arrangements: Memorial service 10 a.m. Monday at Middlebury Congregational Church. Arrangements by Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, Main Street South, Route 6.
