R. B. McGee Administrator of Sarah D. Scrape
State of Tennessee, Gibson Co.
We Richard B. McGee, William Scrape, and Peter P. Elliott are held and firmly bound
unto N.S. Brown, governor of the state aforesaid. For the time being and his
successors, in office, in the finale sum of One Thousand Dollars, for which payment
well and truly to be made. We bind ourselves, are heirs, executors, and
administrators jointly and severally firmly by these present, sealed with our
seals, and dated this 1 November 1847.
The condition of the above obligation is such that of the above bound R. B. McGee
administrators of all and singular the goods and chattels and writes and credits
Sarah Scrape, deceased do make in cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of
all and singular the goods and chattels and writes and credits of the said
deceased. Which have or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of him the
said R. B. McGee or into the hands and possession of any other person or persons
for him and the same so made do exhibit or cause to be exhibited to the next county
court where ordered for administration past and the same goods, chattels, and
credits of the said deceased. At the time of his death on which at any time after
shall come to the hands or possession of the said R. B. McGee. Or into the hands or
possession of any other person or persons for him do well and truly administer
according to law do make or cause to be made a true and just account of his said
administrations. Within one year after the date of these present and all the rest
and the residence of said goods, chattels and credits which shall be found
remaining upon the said administrators account the same being first examine and
allowed by the county court shall deliver and pay unto such person or persons
respectfully all the same shall be done unto pursuant to law and if it shall appear
that any last will and testament was maid by the deceased and the execution of
executors therein named do exhibit the same into court, making request to have it
aloud and approved accordingly by it the said R. B. McGee above bound being there
unto required do render and deliver the said letters of administration approbation
of such testament being first had and made in the said court. Then this obligation
to be void and of none affect, or else to remain in full force and virtue given
under our hands and seals 1 day of November 1847.
