Will of William Turner Lyon May 14, 1872 Note: William T. Lyon was our great great grandfather. Williams T. Lyon, ) I William T. Lyon, do make and publish as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and Will ) making void all other wills by me at any time made. Proven at Sept. Tenn, 1872 ) See Minute Book No. 12, p. 413 ) First: I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible, out of any moneys that I may die possessed of, or may come into the hands of my executor. Secondly: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecca Lyon my entire tract of land on which I now reside, containing by estimation one hundred and thirty five acres, said land being and lying in the State of Tennessee and in the County of Madison. Thirdly: In addition to said tract of land above recited, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Rebecca Lyon my entire stock now on hand, consisting of Horses, cows and Hogs, Together with all my entire Household and Kitchen furniture and all my farming utensils and all that appertains to my premises during her, the, Rebecca Lyon, wife, life time or widowhood. Fourthly: I give and bequeath to the bodily heirs of my daughter Emily Watt, to wit, William Thomas Watt and Alice Josephine Watt and Sarah Emeline Watt each of there three children, one hundred and twenty-five dollars, that is to say, William Thomas Watt and Alice Josephine Watt and Sarah Emeline Watt, each of them one hundred and twenty-five dollars, said money to come out of the notes which I now hold against William P. Haley and said money when all collected to be placed in the hands of a guardian that my executor may appoint or cause to be appointed by the County Court, so the said money may draw lawful interest, until the above mentioned children shall become of lawful age. I also give my daughter, Nancy Emeline Watt twenty-five dolars to be paid out of the proceeds of the notes I hold against William P. Haleywhen all of said notes are collected. I give and bequeath to my daughter Julie A. Cash wife of John J. Cash, five hundred dollars. Four-hundred dollars to be paid out of the proceeds of the notes I hold against William P. Haley, when all collected and one hundred dollars to be paid to her by William Marion Lyon his portion when he the said William Marion Lyon becomes possessed of his portion which will be alloted him, and said Five hundred dollars appropriated entirely to her the said Julia A. Cash own benefit and use during her life time and after her death the balance if any to be divided equally between her bodily heirs. I also give and bequeath to my son Thomas Lyon out of the proceeds of the said notes against William P. Haley three hundred dollars when said notes are all collected but if the said Thomas Lyon should die before said money comes into his hands said money of three hundred dollars to be equally divided between my sons, to wit, James H. A. Lyon and William M. Lyon and my daughter Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon. I give and bequeath to the bodily heirs of my son Jefferson Turner Lyon six hundred dollars out of the proceeds of the notes I hold against William P. Haley when all of said notes are collected. Further, I give and bequeath after the death of my beloved wife Rebecca Lyon, the following real estate to my two sons James H. A. Lyon and William Marion Lyon and my daughter Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon forty-five acres of land including my residence and out buildings on the said forty-five acres which line shall commence on William Boon's north west corner and run with Deberry's & Delap's south line a sufficient number of poles west to make her forty five acres by running a due south line to Micajah Fly's north boundary line the said Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon is to pay to Jefferson T. Lyon two hundred dollars before she is legally possessed of the above tract or lot of land, and land to be her own after paying the Jefferson T. Lyon two hudred dollars her life time and then to her bodily heirs if any and if not to be equally divided between Jefferson Turner Lyon, James H. A. Lyon, Julia A. Cash and William Marion Lyon. I give to my son William Marion Lyon forty-five acres of land, the line commence in Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon's line that runs due south, and run due west a sufficient number of poles to by running due south to Micajah Fly's north boundary line to make him forty-five acres. the William Marion Lyon is to pay Jefferson Lyon one hundred dollars before he is legally possessed of said land, then said land to be his own his heirs if any and if no heirs to be equally divided between Jefferson Turner Lyon, James H. A. Lyon, Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon and Julia A. Cash. I give and bequeath to my son James H. A. Lyon forty five acres of land the remaining portion of my one hundred and thirty five acre tract of land to begin in William Marion Lyon's north west corner, thence west to L.M. Barnett's east boundary line---thence south with said Barnett line to Micajah Fly's north west corner--the land to be his own during his life time and then to be equally divided between Jefferson Turner Lyon, William Marion Lyon, Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon and Julia A. Cash. I further direct and bequeath after the death of my wife Rebecca Lyon all the proceeds remaining in the hands of my executor or administrator to be equally diivided between my two sons, (to wit) James H. A. Lyon, William Marion Lyon and my daughter Elizabeth Rebecca Lyon. Lastly: I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Rebecca Lyon my esecutrix.
