This is a tin type of a woman.  I have been able to fix most pictures but I'm not going to attempt this one.  Too many defects.  If someone wants it I can try but it will take some time

What is his wife's name?

This is very hard to read.  It has Gilbert for sure, then what could be Ban or Barr or Bau then Willie for sure with Jim and the last name is hard to read could be Cater or Catn or Eater or Eatn or almost anything.  May not even be a last name.

Identified!

Isaac Houston Mount and his wife, Mary Alice Swindell

submitted by:
The picture labeled "To Mary Hampton" on the page, /tngibson/who6.htm shows a couple posing for a Van Alstyne, Texas studio portrait.
Attached for your verification is the same couple and a family portrait from circa 1908.
They are Isaac Houston Mount and his wife, Mary Alice Swindell. They moved to Texas from Gibson Co., TN in 1884. The older children were born in TN and the rest in Texas.
As for Mary Hampton, I would surmise that this is Mary Sylvia Mount, half sister of Isaac, who married James F. Hampton. Mary was born and died in Tennessee.
The Mounts are my great grandparents whom I have many pictures.

The first picture I found hanging in my mother's (Doris Marie Wade) bedroom after her death. Nobody in the family seems to know who this lady is.  She could be a Wade, Snell or a relative of either the Wade or Snell family.  She has to be very special for my mother to have her hanging
in her bedroom.  I thought perhaps it was her mother Edna Snell Wade, but it is not and none of her family members know who she is.
This is one heck of a mystery because my mother did not keep pictures of just any body.

The second picture was given to me by my Uncle Clyde Jenkins.  He said it was in Granny Edith L. Walker Jenkins photo box she kept.  He said that he knows the lady is related but he does not know who she is.  She could be a Walker, Jenkins, Hembree, Webb or a relative related to one of the families.  It is not my Granny mother. I have taken this picture to Jenkins family reunions, shown to several of the Walker families, and it has been put on line in the Hembree Newsletter, but yet nobody knows who she or the child she is holding is,  On the back of the picture you can barely tell where my Granny had written names and birthdates down on it..  Just barely and it is difficult to make it totally out on any one.  But yet I know she is someone special for my Granny would have not kept her picture.  At one time I thought she could have been Charlotte Hembree Jenkins holding George Madison Jenkins.  That would have been my Grandpa Grandmother holding his Dad.  But nobody knows what Charlotte looks like or George Madison Jenkins.

This appears to be of the Hampton line rather than Akin.  The older woman looks like a Hampton.

Unknown Hampton/Akin line.  Appears to be a husband and wife with two daughters.
