Basic Training at Ft. Campbell, KY

Jungle Warfare Training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana

Sent to Vietnam on Feb. 13, 1967 with 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Airmobile Division.

Wounded in the battle of Chu Lai on Oct 23, 1967, resulting in total blindness.

Jimmys' note; James was the son of Wallace "Shorty" Mitchell.  He had a brother named Allan Mitchell.
