Located near the intersection of Gann Road and Idlewild-Hollyleaf Road near the Gann community in Northeastern Gibson County. This cemetery is no longer in existence. It was located to the north of the home of the late Elbert and Dorothy (Mallard) Cole. Dorothy was said (in the Gibson County Cemeteries book by Emily Walker) to have looked for the cemetery, but found no trace of it. The Chicken Hill is a small ridge in this area. It is probably the exact location of the cemetery.
Buried there that we know of are Isabella McAlister Swindell, the wife of James T. Swindell (Son of Hollowell & Margaret WILLIAMSON SWINDELL) and the daughter of John R. and Margaret (Tatterton) McAlister. Isabella died in a Pneumonia outbreak of Mar. 1885. Her daughter, Rachel, Rachel's husband, James M. Carruth, and Rachel and James's small son, all died around this same time too. They are buried at Pratt Cemetery. Isabella was buried at Chicken Hill with her father, John R. McAlister. Also, it is said that during a period of road construction, some bodies were exhumed. We know nothing about this right now.
From intersection of Hwy. 45E By-pass and Hwy. 54 (Trenton Hwy.) at Bradford go west toward Trenton 2 miles. Turn left on Davis Grove Rd (in front of Chestnut Hill Methodist Church). Go 1.5 miles and cemetery is on left of road.
