John D. M Dowell, Guard of A. S. Wallace, heirs

State of Tennessee, Gibson County
Know all men by these present that we John D. McDowell, John C. Gillespie and John W. Jones of the county and state aforesaid are held and firmly bound unto John D. McDowell, Chairman of the County Court foresaid county and his successors in office in the sum of Five hundred dollars to be paid to said Justice or his successors in office or assigns to which payments well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs executors and administrators jointly severally and firmly by these presents.  Sealed with our seals and dated this 4th day of March 1845. 

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound John D. McDowell was this day chosen and appointed Guardian of Lunsford M. R., John F. Columbus, William P. and Emaline Wallace, heirs of A. S. Wallace, decsd.

Now should the said John D. McDowell well this day and truly perform the duties of Guardian towards the said minor orphans and in all respects discharge his duty faithfully then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
