The history of the Haste's of Gibson Co., Tennessee begins with Henry HASTE who was born January 22, 1790 in or near Hertford County, North Carolina.  About 1815, Henry married Derucy (UNKNOWN) who was born July 4, 1792 in North Carolina.  Of this union, five children were born; Celia, Elizabeth, Juda, Isaac who was born February 28, 1819 in North Carolina and William David, born August 15, 1821 also in North Carolina.

The Henry HASTE family moved to Gibson Co., Tennessee in about 1838 and settled "The Haste Place".  Henry lived to be 80 years old, dying  on September 28, 1870 in Gibson Co.  Derucy lived nine years after the passing of Henry, dying on August 13, 1881.  Both Henry and Derucy are buried in the Laneview Cemetery, Gibson Co., Tennessee.

Isaac HASTE married Martha E. (UNKNOWN) Abt. 1843.  Martha was born November 7, 1815 in North Carolina.  This marriage produced two children; Henry T., b. 1843 and William David, b. September 25, 1850 in Laneview, Gibson Co., Tennessee.  Isaac died January 28, 1892 in Laneview and Martha passed May 16, 1881 also in Laneview.

William David HASTE, the second son of Henry and Derucy, was born August 15, 1821.  On August 10, 1843 he married Rebecca VARNER, daughter of William and Mary VARNER.  She was born May 12, 1824 in North Carolina.  William David and Rebecca had nine children; William H. "Bill", b. 1844, John I., b. 1849, David Parker, b. November 1851, Elizabeth, b. Abt. 1852, Francis "Frank" R., b. 1853, George W., b. Abt. 1859, Sarch C. "Sally", b. 1860, Deruch Anne, b. Abt. 1861 and Delia, b. Abt. 1862.

William David was an ordained Baptist Minister and a farmer and a founding member of the Salem Baptist Church located in Trenton, Tennessee which was organized October 18, 1847.  William David died June 1, 1897 in Trenton.  Rebecca VARNER HASTE passed September 6, 1903 in Gibson Co.

William David HASTE, son of Isaac HASTE, was born September 25, 1850 in Laneview, Gibson Co., Tennessee.  On July 1879 in Trenton he wed Miss Angie HENDRIX (b. January 13, 1860), the daughter of William and Susan PEOPLES HENDRIX.  Of this union there were three children; Bertha Vesta, b. 1883, Leonadus Loredelle, b. 1884, Willie Gadara, b. 1889.  William died August 30, 1889 and Angie passed at the ripe age of 106 on March 28, 1946 in Oklahoma.

William H. "Bill" HASTE, grandson of Henry HASTE and son of William David HASTE came into the world October 12, 1844.  At the age of 21 years he married Martha Jane HENDICKS who was born January 14, 1847 in Gibson Co.  The children of William "Bill" and Martha Jane were:  Cuba A., b. 1867, Zora D. Rebecca, b. 1869, Dr. David Miles, DDS, b. 1872, Nannie Maude, b. 1875, Mary Willie, b. 1879, Lee Waldo, b. 1882 and Roy Glen, b. 1890.  William "Bill" passed on July 20, 1911 in Laneview and Martha Jane died April 20, 1892.

John I. HASTE, son of William David, grandson of Henry) was born July 2, 1849.  He married Isabella (UNKNOWN) and they had five children:  Eula M., b. 1872, Ada, b. 1881, Anna, b. 1891, Charles and Ethel.  John died May 28, 1915.

David Parker HASTE, the son of William David and grandson of Henry, was born November 26, 1851 in Trenton.  David united with Mary Jane BURRESS (b. December 5, 1851) on November 28, 1872.  David and Mary Jane hadfour children; William Henry, b. 1873, John Atlas, b. 1877, Grace Almus, b. 1880 and George Melvin, b. 1886.  David Parker died January 5, 1923 in Laneview and Mary Jane passed on July 29, 1923 also in Laneview.
