Stephen Witherington

I Charlotte A. Wilson have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey
unto Stephen Witherington all my right, title, claim and interest in and to the following
described real estate situated in the State of Tennessee, Gibson County, 19th Civil
District and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a stake and two Dogwood pointers the North West corner of Nancy Witherington,
running West with A. O'Daniel's line 252 1/2 poles to his South West corner hence South to
63 1/2 poles to a white Oak with beech and black Oak pointers.  Then 253 1/2 poles to a
stake on the Western boundary of the Dower hence North with the Dower line 63 1/2 poles to
the beginning line? the same land bought by me in the case of Stephen Witherinton vs.
Charlotte Wilson et als in the Chancery Court at Trenton, Tennessee and confirmed to me
decree of said Court at its May term 1876 recorded in Minute Book F of said court page
300.  The consideration of this Sale is Fourteen Hundred Dollars paid to me and to be paid
as follows:

Six Hundred and Ninety & 38/100 Dollars of this sum is of said in the Note & interest for
Six hundred ($685) & Eighty five Dollars executed by me to R.E. Raines, Clerk & Master for
the purchase money of this land on the 7th day of Feby 1876. due at Six Months which note
& interest the said Stephen Witherington this day prays to the said R.E. Raines C. & M.
the residue of said Fourteen hundred Dollars to wit the sum of $709.62 is secured to me in
two notes executed to me this day by Stephen Witherington for the sum of Three Hundred &
fifty four & 86/100 Dollars each, one due December 25th 1876. the other due December 25th,
1877. to secure the payment of which notes a lien is hereby ex____ retained upon the land
herein conveyed until the said notes are paid in full.  The first of said notes to bear
interest at six per cent from maturity and the second bear inst. at Six per Cent per annum
from December 25th, 1876.  And I, Charlotte Wilson covenant that the said land is
unencumbered and that I have a right to convey the same and bind myself my heirs &
representatives is to forever warranty and defend the title to the said land to said
Witherington against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever.  This 2nd day of October
1876.
