Proceedings in said Court, Friday 29th of month Richard B. McGee for himself and administration with the will annexed of James D. Scrape deceased, and administrator

of Sarah D. Scrape, Elizabeth E. McGee wife of said R.B. McGee, William H. Scrape & Susan M. Scrape & Sarah E. Scrape, by their guardian W.H. Scrape . Expertise Petition .

Petition to Sell Land & Town Lots

Be it remembered that on the 28th day of March 1850 came on this cause to be finally and was he and before the Honorable William Fitz Jerald, Judge & presiding  at Trenton upon the request of the clerk of the county.

   Which request being unexpected to the same is in all things confirmed . When  it appeared to the satisfaction of the county that said clerk  in a decree to the term of the intervention decree rendered at its former term of this court, in this county that he had sold the two acres of ground with the house & mentioned in the petition to the said Richard B. McGee for the sum of one thousand dollars and said McGee had paid said sum of money . Said lot of ground

Of two acres is boundary  follows. To Wit. In the county

Of Gibson and the state of Tennessee in the immediately

Vicinity of the town of Trenton being known and designated as lots 18,19,20 & 21 in the plan of lots laid off

On the south side of the town of Trenton.

  It further appeared to the court that said clerk had sold the Tan Yard and the lot of ground one acre on which the same was situated to said William H. Scrape for the sum of two hundred dollars and that same has been paid. Said Tan Yard lot is boundary as follows. To Wit. In the county of Gibson aforesaid in the immediately  vicinity of Trenton being known and designated as the plans of the lots laid off on the south of ___ ___ lot no. 43.

   It further  appeard  to the court that said clerk had sold 28 ½ acres of land mentioned in the petition to Nelson I. __ for the sum of five hundred and sixty seven dollars and fifteen cents and that said sum paid of money had been paid by said ___ to said clerk. The ___ and boundary of said 28 ½ acres which is in two separate lots or tracts and is as

Following  the first parcel of said lot lies in the county of Gibson and the state of Tennessee, south of the town of Trenton, being on the southeast corner of lot no. 6 of subdivision Spencer D. Collins west boundary line of his 413 acre tract ___ east 36 poles . Collins line to a stake then north 59 & ¾ poles to a stake the southeast corner of lot no. 8 aforesaid & southwest corner of ____ subdivision then west 36 poles to a stake corner of lot no s. 8,5 & 6 then south 59 ¾  poles to the beginning , containing 13 ¾ acres.

  The second parcel is bounded as follows, lying in said county & state and south of the town of Trenton, being

On the southwest corner of lot no. 5 of subdivision at a stake, then south 59 & ¾ poles to a stake southeast corner

Of Lewis corner & northwest corner of Spencer D. Collins tract, then with Collins line west 4 poles to a stake, then north 59 & ¾ poles to stake corner of lot no. 8,5 & 6 in subdivision then west 40 poles to the beginning containing

15 acres more or less , and decreed.

  It is wherefore ordered , assigned and decreed by the court that all the right title interest claim on demand that the other petitioners in this cause had in and to said tanyard and lot of ground on which the same was located as

Described aforesaid be divided out of all the other petitioners their heirs and assign forever and vested in him the said William H. Scrape his heirs and assign forever.

      It is further ordered, assigned and decreed by the court that all the right title interest and claim that said petitioners have in and  to said 28 ½ acres of land described as aforesaid be on the same is hereby divested out of them the said petitioners and their heirs and assign and vested in him the said Nelson I.___ his heirs and assign forever.

  It is further ordered by the court that _____ sufficient money of said purchase money to pay all the cost of this proceedings that said that said clerk pay over the ___ of said purchase money to said petitioners as they may be

_____ Entitled to the same there being for distribution

and entitled to an equal portion each.

    I Smith Parker clerk of circuit court of Gibson County in said state, do certify that the foregoing transcript is a true and perfect copy of the final decree entered in our said court upon petition James D. Scrape’s heirs for sale of Tan Yard and town lots as the same appears of record in said court.
