This Indenture made this thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and thirty six between Henry D. Harper of the County of Gibson, Tennessee of the one part and John T. Kearney of the County of Warren & State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Henry D. Harper for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars to him in hand paid by the said John T. Kearney, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Kearney his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Warren State of North Carolina containing Ten acres, more or less and bounded as follows. Beginning at a Red Oak on the road nearly oposite Edw'd Williams; thence nearly a West course to the Deep Branch, corner black gum, up said branch as it meanders to a white oak corner, thence nearly a South course to a white oak on the road near John T. Kearney's, thence down the road to the beginning. To have and to hold the said bargained land and premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Kearney his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Henry D. Harper for himself his heirs and assigns doth further covenant and agree to & with the said John T. Kearney his heirs and assigns that he the said H. D. Harper will warrant and forever defend by these presents the above granted premises from the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Henry D. The Execution of the foregoing Deed from Henry D. Harper to John T. Kearney was proved in open Court by the oath of Sam'l Bobbett, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be Registered.
