Registered December 12th 1849 - This indenture made this 11th day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 49, between Joshua Harper of Gibson County and State of Tennessee on the one part and Joseph J. Harper of the County of Gibson and State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joshua Harper for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Joseph J. Harper the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained, sold alienated, conveyed and con firmed unto the said Joseph J. Harper his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the County of Gibson State aforesaid, Range 2 Section beginning at the N. W. corner of James Turners 50 acre entry No. 984 & running North 53 poles to a stake & pointers; thence East 176 1/2 poles to a stake & pointers; thence South 148 poles to a stake & pointers; thence West 81 1/2 poles to a black stump & pointers; thence North pass the N. E. corner of James Turners 50 acre entry at 9 poles & with its eastern boundary in all 94 poles to its N. E. corner; thence West 95 poles to the beginning containing by estimation 107 acres. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditament and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Joseph J. Harper his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joshua Harper for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant and agree with the said Joseph J. Harper his heirs or assigns that the before
