State of Tennessee County of Dyer -

Now all men by theas presents - nowing the uncertainty of life and bein Rashional and in my rite mind doe this day make my Last will and Testament, revokin all will made by me heretofore. First; I want my boddy buread deacently, but not costly - and all of my just debts paid - and I will to JOSEPHINE SLATER, my Dear wife, lifetime Dowry or her widowhood it to be laid of by competent Judge - at hear death of marriage the property to fall back to my children - I will to her one horse or mare to dispose of as she seas fit - I want all the ballance of my property in whatever it may subsist eaquell divided between my children it to bee to theame and their boddy hiars - I want thame edicated the best that can be don with whatever means that may be and I allso resirve all my rite, tital and claim to my dear brother T. L. SLATER and his hiars the Barn in front of him beginning at my southwest corner and running west to the river and all so from his southwest corner, running to the River and that I appoint J. W. PARR my administrator to wind up my estate - I also appoint my Brother T. L. SLATER to assist him in any way he can this the twelth day of January Eighteen hundred and seventy eight.
