Last Will & Testament of MARY J. LIGHT dec'd Probated May Term 1883 Recorded May 9 - 1883 ZACH WATKINS I, MARY J. LIGHT hereby make and publish this my last will and testament. I will and bequeath to my daughter, SCRAPIE FOWLKES, wife of PARSHA FOWLKES, one half of my entire real estate and one half of my entire personal property of every kind whatsoever and that, she, the said SCRAPIE FOWLKES, is to have and to hold the same, both the said half interest in said real and personal estate, for her sole and separate use and controll free from the liabilities debts or contracts of her present husband, the said PARSHA FOWLKES, or any future husband - the said SCRAPIE FOWLKES taking both said realty and personally to do as she may please with it, having full right To dispose of and sell said half interest in said realty, but in the event the said SCRAPIE FOWLKES should die leaving no children and not having sold said real estate then said real estate above willed to her shall go to her sister PETTIE JOHNSTON, and if the said PETTIE be not living, then to any children of the said PETTIE that may be living - I also will and bequeath to my daughter PETTIE JOHNSTON, wife of J. F. JOHNSTON, the other half of my entire real estate and the other half of my entire personal property of every kind whatsoever and she the said PETTIE is to have and to hold the same (both said half interest in the real and personal estate) for her sole and separate use and control free from the debts, liabilities and contracts of her present husband, the said J. F. JOHNSTON or any future husband, the said PETTIE JOHNSTON taking both said realty and personally to do as she may please with it, having full right and power to sell and dispose of said realty, but in the event the said PETTIE should die leaving no children and not having sold said real estate, then the above real estate above willed to her shall go to her Sister SCRAPIE FOWLKES, and if the said SCRAPIE be not then living then to any children of the said SCRAPIE that may be then living. Before closing this my last will and testament, prompted by the great love and affection I bear my said children, I most earnestly advise and counsel each of them that out of the personalty turned over to them by my Executor, that each one take and set aside as much as Four Thousand Dollars to be kept by them, and never encrouch upon said sum - only permitting themselves to spend the interest - I hereby nominate and appoint WM. E. JOHNSTON executor of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand this January 1 1883 MARY J. LIGHT
