The Last Will and Testament of MRS. MARTHA S. HOOD Dec'd Probated July Term 1888 Recorded July 20th 1888 W. L. WILKERSON
In the Name of God, Amen I direct that my just debts, and funeral expenses be paid, And I give, devise, and bequeath to the Trustees of Cumberland University Lebanon Tennessee for the benefit of the Theological Department of said University, all the property real and personal and mixed, that I may die seized and possessed of or that I may own at my death. In testimony whereof I do hereunto subscribe my name in the presence of H. PARKS and SMITH PARKS whom I request to witness the same on this the 22nd day of November 1886 M. S. HOOD
Witnesses: Codicil, No. 1. I, MARTHA S. HOOD do make and publish this as a codicil to my last will and testament, executed by me on the 22nd day of November 1886 and I desire to so change my said will as to give to my two aunts LUCINDA WOODS and FRANCES G. GREEN, my household furniture and wearing appearal and all the rest and residue of my estate real and personal go as I directed in my said will. Witness my hand this the 9thday of December 1886 in the presence of HAMILTON PARKS and SMITH PARKS whom I request to bear witness to the same M. S. HOOD
Witnesses: Codicil No. 2. I, MARTHA S. HOOD being of sound mind do make and publish this as a codicil to my will of November 22nd 1886 to which I added a codicil on December 9th 1886. I have an note for $35.00 executed to me by my cousin J. R. WOODS, and aunt LUCINDA H. WOODS which note if not collected at my death I desire to give and do hereby give to my aunt LUCINDA H. WOODS and direct the same to be delivered to her. I also give to my Cousin MRS. SUSAN MURRY of Texas who is now in Newbern - the sum of one hundred dollars which amount I wish paid by Uncle J. R. GREEN and to be credited on a note for $285.00 which I hold against him. I, nominate and appoint HAMILTON PARKS JR. of Nashville Tenn. Executor of my last will and codicil thereto; In witness whereof I hereunto subscribe my name in the presence of S. H. BRADY and W. G. LEONARD whom I request to bear witness t same on this 27th day of June 1888, M. S. HOOD
