Will of Daniel Hendricks |
Daniel Hendricks - will and testament proven and set up December term 1865, Dyer County, Court recorded 29 December 1865. Will was dated 1858.
"State of Tennessee, Dyer County.
I Daniel Hendricks of the county and state aforesaid being of sound mind and memory do this the 14th day of April one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight make ordain and publish this my last willand testament in manner and form following viz.
First, I wish to be decently buried at the expense of my estate.
2ndly, I wish all of my just debts paid.
3rdly, I will and bequeath to my son, William R. Hendricks, my plantation and tract of land on which I lived at the time of my wife's death, it containing fifty five acres with all the appurtenances thereunto to the use of said William R. Hendricks his heirs and assigns forever.
I further willand bequeath that there shall be eight dollars set apart fromthe proceeds of the sales of my perishable property to be equally divided between my two daughters, Ann Trout and Elizabeth Fields. And I further will that my son, William R. Hendricks, receive forty dollars from my estate, and if there should be anything left that it shall be equally divided between all of my children except Polly Monery and Temperance Chaffin, which I have gave them all I intend to give them.
I hereby make and appoint Uriah C. Hendricks my executor to this my last will and testament. Signed and sealed the day and date above written inthe presence of R. H. McNail and C. E. White."
Note: In 1846, Daniel Hendricks deeded 85 acres to Uriah Hendricks. In 1850, he deeded 55 3/4 acres to Daniel R. Hendricks, and in 1851, he deeded 55 3/4 acres to Thomas P. Hendricks. Uriah, Daniel R., and Thomas P. were sons of Daniel Hendricks.
