The Last will & Testament of R. M. DRANE Dec'd Probated August term /88 Recorded Aug. 7th 1888 W. L. WILKERSON clk. I, ROBERT M. DRANE being in feeble health but of sound mind and disposing memory hereby make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore at any time made. Item 1st. My will and desire is that all my just debts be paid (including my funeral expenses) out of the first money coming into the hands of my Executor after my death. Item 2nd. I give to my beloved wife ELLA F. DRANE the lot of ground on which we live composed of two lots known as the G. W. PARKER lot and C. F. BROWN lot and I refer to them recorded deed in the Register Office at Dyersburg as to particular as to metes and bounds and quantity I also give her the lot or parcel of land conveyed to me by JAMES S. McCORKLE lying just west of the Newbern west corporation line, I also refer to his recorded Deed to me for metes and bounds and other particulars in regard to said lot of land I give these three lots to my beloved wife during her life or widowhood and at her death or marriage then the above described lots are to belong to my youngest son ROBT. W. DRANE the only child of my beloved wife ELLA F. DRANE to be his and his heirs and assigns forever and in case of the death of my son ROBT. DRANE JR. without issue then I give the said three lots to my two children by my first marriage CLIDE DRANE and NELLIE DRANE to be equally divided between them or their heirs or the survivors of them if either of them die leaving no issue. Item 3rd: I give to my son CLYDE DRANE and my daughter - NELLIE DRANE my interest in the brick store house on Main Street in Newbern Dyer County, Tennessee, known as the WILKERSON & DRANE store house bounded on the East by MRS. LIDE CLARK and on the west by JAMES H. HAMILTON & Sons South by main street and north by H. C. PORTER. I also give them the Policy on my life issued by the Knights of Honor and for the benefit of my children at the time of the insurance of said Policy I only had two children CLYDE and NELLIE and it was my intention always that it should go to these two children alone I own one half of the brick store house & lot. Item 4th In the event that my two children CLYDE and NELLIE should fail to collect or to get the two thousand dollars on my life Policy mentioned in the third item of my will, Then I will and direct that all my property real and personal or mixed be divided between my wife and children as the law directs and divides the estates of persons during intestate my beloved wife taking such part of my estate as the law gives to widow whos husband die intestate - Item 5th I hereby nominate and appoint ASA FOWLKES Executor of this my last will & Testament.
