WILLIAM A. ATKINS dec'd

the October Court 1853
and ordered to be recorded
State of Tennessee - Dyer County
The following is the nuncupative will of WILLIAM H. ATKINS Dec'd Vis as follows.
JOHN D. LIGHT & THOMAS H. ATKINS in the dwelling house of the said William H. Atkins in his last sickness, one or two days before his death which took place the 13th August 1853 he being then in his right mind, he called on the said J. D. LIGHT, in the presence of the said THOMAS & JOSEPH ATKINS, and desired the said LIGHT to take charge of his personal property, & sell such as the widow could spare to pay his debts, and allow her to keep the ballance to raise & school his children. The said WILLIAM H. ATKINS died within two days after making the above declaration, without altering in any way to their knowledge the above request, or altering his opinions.
The said JOHN D. LIGHT being willing to execute the above nuncupative will, presents the same for probate. The above being in substance what took place as above states, is reduced to writing by Our request and in Our presence, this the Third day of October 1853.
