Found in the State Gazette, December 23, 1969 HOLD WILLIAMSON RITES HERE TODAY Father of Acting Dyersburg Chief of Police Dies Yesterday Funeral services for William Albert Williamson, 609 Christie street, South Dyersburg, who died yesterday afternoon at eh age of eighty-one at Parkview Hospital, were held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon in the chapel of the Curry Funeral Home. The rites were said by the Reverend Bennie Hopper and the Reverend Carl D. Mills. Pallbearers were Jimmy Eudaley, Billy Eudaley, Jerry Williamson, Larry Williamson, Jimmy Williamson and Doty Johnston. Interment was in Dyer County Memorial Gardens, Highway 51 North, with Curry's in Charge. Williamson, a retired Farmer, was the son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Edward (See note #1) Williamson of Finley. He was a well known and highly esteemed resident of Dyer county. His wife, Mrs. Cora Bell Williamson, passed away in August of this year. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Strawn and Mrs. Joe Ella Eudaley of Dyersburg; three sons, Doug Williamson, James Williamson, and Bobby Williamson, acting Dyersburg Chief of Police; a sister, Mrs. W. M. Fowler, Sr., of Dyersburg; two half sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Aleand (See note #2) and Mrs. Thomas Brannon, both of Memphis; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
