Dr. Ed Williamson, Finley, a leading county physician, died Thursday night at the Baird-Brewer General Hospital here. He was 68 years old and a prominent citizen of the county.

Dr. Williamson was graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical College, Memphis, in 1902 and in that year began the practice in Finley where he followed his profession until death.

He was a member of the county medical body, the Tri-State Medical Society, and the Tennessee Medical Society. As a physician, he was loyal to the best traditions of his professions and an exemplar of his most noble ideals. He was a member of the methodist church.

Dr. Williamson was gentle and loveable as a companion firm in his stand for right and honest dealings. As a gentleman he was courteous and not once in his relations with his brothers of his proffession did he act unethically. His community has lost an honorable citizen ans his death has brought sorrow to his bereaved family and friends.

Dr. Williamson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella Williamson and the following children: Mrs. Eunice Hager and Mrs. Walter Fowler of Dyersburg. Jim Williamson of Detroit, Mich. Albert Williamson of Finley, Mrs. T. H. Brannon, Mrs. William Alexander, Mrs Francis Kent and Mrs. Louie Haas, all of Memphis.

Services were held at 4:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Fowler on St. Johns Avenue conducted by the Rev. H. L. Peterson of the First Christian Church, Dyersburg. Burial was in Fairview.
