Dyersburg State Gazette Friday, December 28, 1923 MRS. J. E. WEBB The death of Mrs. Ella Webb, widow of the late J. E. Webb, and one of the oldest and most highly respected women of Dyer County, died Saturday night at eight o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. J. Harris, of Newbern. The deceased was in her 92nd year and had been a lifelong resident of the county. She was a woman of splendid Christian character and a devout member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter Tuesday and interment was at the family burying ground near Rehoboth. Mrs. Webb is survived by the following children: Mrs. Etta Hall, Dick Tucker, Mrs. C. D. Hilliard, of Sharon; Mrs. ? D. Harris. The following grandchildren also survive: Mrs. W. E. Jones, Mrs. Earl S. Parks, James Hall, Dr. E. T. ????, Mrs. Hattie Nichols, Webb Tucker; John, Ella and Hendrix Hilliard. (there was a wrinkle on the microfilmed paper where the ??? are.) |
