Flossie Williams Thurmond, 85, of Dyersburg, died Sunday at Methodist Hospital of Dyersburg. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

Services will be a 2 p.m. today in the chapel of J. W. Curry and Son Funeral Home in Dyersburg with Brother Kenneth Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

She leaves two daughters, Imogene Preslar of Ridgley and Betty Odle of Finley; two sons, Maxie Thurmond and Charles Thurmond both of Dyersburg; 18 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Strawnie Thurmond; a son Ralph Thurmond; and her parents, George and Irene Short Williams.
