Miss Janie Short

Miss. Janie Short, 63, of Newbern died Thursday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Max Walker. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Oakes of Newbern and Mrs. Vergie Coombes of Boling Spring Lakes, North Carolina; one brother, J.F. Short of McMinnville, Tenn.
