MRS. P. L. SHOFNER DEAD AT NEWBERN--Mrs. P. L. SHOFNER died at her home in Newbern Thursday, after a long illness. She underwent an operation in a Dyersburg hospital several weeks ago in the hope of restoring her health. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a splendid Christian woman. She is survived by her husband and two sons, W S SHOFNER of Newbern, and A E SHOFNER of East St. Louis. Funeral services were held this morning at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church by Rev. C W HAYES. Interment was at Poplar Grove.
