As published in the State Gazette Friday, April 23, 1976 Mrs. Ethel Magnolia Seratt of Lenox died Wednesday at Community General Hospital in Bolivar. She was 79 years of age and the widow of Herbert Seratt. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Curry's Chapel. The Reverend W.R. Williamson and the Reverend George Wallace officiated. Burial was in Neeley's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Seratt, Sr., Paul Seratt, Jr., Herschel Copeland, Richard Patton, Clifford Hicks and Jerry Daniels. J.W. Curry and Son Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. She is survived by four sons, J.Z. Seratt and Elbert Seratt, both of Dyersburg, Clifford Seratt of Chicago, and Neeley Seratt of Lansing, Michigan; three daughters, Miss Jane Seratt of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Mrs. Velma Battle of Chicago, and Mrs. Maxine Sipes of Toone; a brother, Buford Hicks of Wilson, Arkansas; three sisters, Mrs. Wilma Orr of Newbern, Mrs. Bessie Rodgers of Caruthersville, Missouri, and Mrs. Vera Church of Wilson, Arkansas; 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
