Dyersburg State Gazette Friday, July 12, 1969 'BUCK RUNION' RITES SATURDAY Funeral services for Charlie "Buck" Runion, sixty one, retired farmer, highly esteemed Dyer Countian and a resident of Miston, who died yesterday at Parkview Hospital here, will be held at one o'clock tomorrow, Saturday afternoon in the chapel of the Curry Funeral Home The rites will be said by the Reverend Gerald Dawson, Burial will be in Fairview cemetery with J. W. Curry and Son in charge of the arrangements. Robert McLean, Madden Stanfield, Hildred Caton, Raymond Nale, "Bo" Stewart and "Buddy" Nale will serve as pallbearers. Runion was born in Waverly in Humphreys county but had been a resident of Dyer county for fifty-five years. He was a member of the Baptist church and a person of estimable character. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Bottoms Runion of Miston; two daughters, Mrs Betty Roberts of Chicago and Mrs. Jane Harmon of Memphis; four sons; Hurschel Runion of Tiptonville, Bobby Runions of Dyersburg, Donnie Runion of Nashville and Damon Runion of Miston; a sister Miss Mary Runion of Memphis, and two brothers J. C. Runion of Los Angeles and Calvin Runion of New York. He also leaves eleven grandchildren. [He was born December 30, 1907 and passed away on July 11, 1969.] |
