As published in the State Gazette April 7, 1980 Wortham Presley, 78, of Dyersburg died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Joe Trybone and Rev. Gaylon Echols. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by a wife, Gertie Presley of Dyersburg; three daughters, Mrs. Fern Tucker, Mrs. Janie Hyde, both of Dyersburg and Mrs. Doris Borst of Edgewood, Md.; three sons, William Presley of Baltimore, Md. and Gene Presley and Don Presley, both of Dyersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Drucilla Lee of Brownsville and Mrs. Irene Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Marvin Presley of Dyersburg and Rufus Presley of Brownsville; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. |
