Rufus Presley

Rufus Presley, 77, of 102 Turnage Lane, died Sunday, December 12 at Haywood Park Hospital.

Mr. Presley was a retired farmer.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15 in Newbern's Johnson funeral Home. Dr. H. K. Sorrell officiated, and burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Butler of Dyersburg; two sons, Charles Presley and Bill Presley; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Smith of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Drucilla Lea.

He also had a brother, the Rev. Marvin Presley of Dyersburg.

Mr. Presley leaves 7 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.

Mr. Rufus Presley, 77, of Brownsville died yesterday at Haywood Park General Hospital in Brownsville.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home conducted by Rev. H. K. Sorrell. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is suvived by one daughter, Mrs. Rachel Butler of Dyersburg; two sons, Charles Presley and Bill Presley both of Brownsville; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Smith of Atlanta, Ga. and Mrs. Drucilla Lee of Brownsville; one brother, Rev. Marvin Presley of Dyersburg; seven grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
