Minister Dies This Morning

Rev. J. R. Pressley Had Been Ill For The Last Ten-Year Period

Following an illness which extended over a ten-year period, Rev. J. R. Presley died at five o'clock this morning at his home off the Dyersburg- Newbern highway.

Mr. Presley, who engaged in the ministery for a number of years was the father of Rev. Marvin Presley, well known West Tennessee Baptist minister.

He also is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. M. C. Lee of Obion and Mrs. C. M. Melton of Decatur, Georgia; two other sons, Wortham Presley and Rufus Presley of Dyersburg.
