DYERSBURG STATE GAZETTE KILLING AT BOGOTA--The neighborhood of Bogota was shocked Monday morning when it was learned that JOE NICHOLS, the popular deputy sheriff, had been killed by JACK CLARKE. There had been bad feeling between the men for sometime but it is not known the immediate cause of the killing. They had had some words over some geese, the property of Mr. NICHOLS, which had been going on CLARKE's place. A shotgun was used and it is reported that NICHOLS was unarmed. The case will be heard in the Circuit Court the third week in the month.
