Dyersburg State Gazette December 11, 1958 Jess Moody dies at Finley today Robert Jess Moody, longtime resident of the Finley area and retired farmer, died at his home at Finley at 12 o'clock this morning. He was 78. Born in Henderson County, Mr. Moody moved to Dyer County in 1920 and for the past 38 years had lived and farmed in the Finley community area. His body will lie in state at the home until tomorrow and then be taken to his native county for services and burial. Final rites will be said at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon at Crowell's Chapel Church near Lexington, Tennessee. Burial will be in Crowell's Chapel Cemetery. J. W. Curry and Son will have charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Leon Seaton, J.T. Tidwell, Kermit Boals and Stoy Permenter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada T. Moody; three sons, Odie Moody, Aaron Moody and Coy Moody all of Finley; two daughters, Mrs. Tildie Wheeler and Mrs. Bethel Wheeler, both of Finley; two brothers, Sonny Moody and Pink Moody, both of Finley; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren |
