Obituary (State Gazette Newspaper, Dyersburn, TN)

William T. McGuire, Sr. died last night at the Nursicare.

A retired farmer, he was 86 years of age and a member of Burgies Chapel Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Chapel of Curry's Funeral Home. Reverand Irvin Cobb will officiate with interment in Fairview Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Curry's Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Wells McGuire; five sons, J.W. McGuire, Tom McGuire, Phillip McGuire, W.T. McGuire, Jr. all of Dyersburg. L.M. McGuire of Cloverdale, Tennessee; three step-sons, Thomas Taylor, Dyersburg, Edward Lee of Dyersburg, and Robert Lee of Finley; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Richardson, Dyersburg, Mrs. Laverne Stephens, Memphis, and Mrs. Ernestine Vazquez of Chicago; three step-daughters, Mrs. Jerry Daniels of Jenkinsville, Mrs. Bill Mobley of Utica, Michigan, and Mrs. Mary Ferrell of Dyersburg; one brother, C.C. McGuire of Dyersburg; a host of grand-children.

William Thomas McGuire, born May 6, 1888, died July 14, 1974. He was the son of Thomas Gus McGuire and Sarah "Jane" Safret of Davie County, North Carolina. He was the husband of the late Emma Rhodesta Wilson, born October 13, 1888, died December 6, 1956.
