THE COURIER-CHRONICLE HUMBOLDT,TENNESSEE FRIDAY JANUARY 25,1924 ITEMS OF INTEREST FROM GADSDEN... H. W. REEVES received a message stating the sudden death of his uncle, JOHN E. McCORKLE of Newbern, Tennessee on last Saturday. Mr. McCORKLE was in his 85th year. He was a prominent citizen of Dyer County where his entire life was spent, had held several offices and was at one time State Senator, and a Confederate veteran. |
