State Gazette Dyersburg, Tennessee Saturday afternoon October 3, 1942 "Father Of Fourteen Dies Early Saturday- John Thomas Mallard, sixty-three year old farmer of the RoEllen community and the father of fourteen children, died at three o'clock this morning at his home there." "Mr. Mallard was born in Humphreys county, but has resided most of his life in Dyer county and in the RoEllen community where he was an esteemed resident and successful farmer." "He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie Mallard, and the following children: Thomas Alfred, Charles Evans, Martin, Massey, J.L. Mallard and C.S. Mallard of the RoEllen community, Allen of McCullough's Chapel and Roy of Miston; Mrs. Ulean Harrell, Mrs. Allie Mai O'Barr, Misses Evie Lee, Norma, Inez and Laverne Mallard." "Funeral services will be held at two o'clock tomorrow, Sunday afternoon at Rehobeth. Burial will be in Rehobeth cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of Holman and Son of Newbern" |
