Jan.1,1931 Former Newbern Boy Dies of Tuberculosis Bruce Lowry, former Newbern boy, a son of Mrs. Stella Lowry, died at a hospital at Sumpter, S.C., following a year's illness of tuberculosis. Serveral years ago, his mother was a teacher in the Newbern Public School, at which time he was a student in the grammer school here. He had many friends and his untimely death came to a great shock to his acquaintances in Newbern. |
