Source: State Gazette Feb 7, 1964 Mrs. Lucy Hill Long of Miston, widow of Tom Long, died at her home in Miston at seven O'clock at age 83. Born in Kentucky, Mrs. Long was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. James Hill. Her husband preceded her in death in 1912. Funeral services will held at 2 O'clock Saturday at Miston Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ned Davis and burial will be at McCollough's Chapel Cemetery. J.W. Curry and Son will have charge of the arrangements. She is survived by 3 daughters, Ethel Thompson, Mary Williams and Lyda Jenkins; 2 sons, Roy Long of Chicago, and Herman Long of Sikeston, Missiouri; 2 sisters, Mrs Olde{Ollie} Steward of Gary, Indiana, and Mrs. Alice Richardson of Miston; and a brother; Johnny Hill of Dyersburg; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. |
