Source: State Gazette Newspaper, Dec 12, 1989. Walter Clay Hill, 87, of Newbern died Monday at Methodist Hospital of Dyersburg. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of South Main Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the chapel of JW Curry and Son Funeral Home conducted by the Rev Tommy Johnson, assisted by the Rev Calvin Smith. Burial be in Hurricane Hill Cemetery. He leaves his wife Mrs Ophelia Hill of Newbern; four daughters, Mrs Peggy S Johnson of Newbern, Mrs Corlene Lambert of Wakarosa, IN, Mrs Joanne Brasfield and Mrs Idell Lewis, both of Dyersburg; five sons, Austin E Hill of Finley, William A Hill and Carl D Hill, of Tampa, FL, Robert C Hill of Newbern; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will Jeffery Hill, Clifton Johnson, Tony French, Randy French, Tommy Brasfild, William A Hill, Jr., Charles Brasfild and Thomas C Lewis, II. |
