Source: State Gazette, Feb 1, 1934. James W. "Jim" Hill Aged Resident Dies At Tennemo Monday Jim Hill, one of the oldest residencts of Dyer County died Monday at his home in Tennemo community. He was 89 yrs old. His death resulted from the infirmities of old age. Mr Hill was a native of Kentucky but came to Dyer county many years ago and settled in the Mississippi river bottom community, where he continued to make his home until his death. He was well known and respected. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Several grandchildren & great grand children are his only near relatives. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon at McCllough's Chapel cemetery and were conducted by the Rev F M Bruce, Baptist minister. Burial was in McCollough's Chapel cemetery. J W Curry and Son of Dyersburg were in charge of the funeral arrangements. |
