ARE HELD SUNDAY

Native and Lifelong Resident of District No. 1 Is Victim of Heart Attack

Funeral services for Joe Hassell, 74, native and lifelong resident of District No. 1, who died suddenly of a heart attack, were held in the Tigrett Methodist church Sunday afternoon. The remains were taken to Friendship cemetery for burial.

Mr. Hassell had spent his entire life in the eastern Dyer county district where he was a successful farmer and landowner. He was a leader in community affairs and had a host of friends there and elsewhere in the county who regret to learn of his death.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Georgis Porter Hassell, who was a resident of Gadsden before her marriage to Mr. Hassell; a son, Porter Hassell, of Earle, Ark.; a brother, Steve Hassell, of District 1; three sisters, Mrs. Gene Baker and Mrs. Maude Screws of Tigrett and Mrs. J. D. Payne of Bonicord.
