Found in the State Gazette November 25, 1954 Harold N. Garvey Killed in Mishap Harold N. Garvey, 39, formerly of Dyersburg and Nephew of Mrs. Walter Fowler of the city was killed instantly last night in a motorcycle accident at Memphis. According to reports received here today, Mr. Garvey was fatally injured when the front wheel of his machine hit the rear end of another motorcycle hurling him forward head first. Mr. Garvey had continued to work week-end with the Aircraft Sign Company here since to moving to Memphis and the body will be returned here for burial. Funeral services will be held at 10 O'clock tomorrow morning at National Funeral Home in Memphis and burial will be at Fairview Cemetery here at 3 O'clock. Currys will have charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Morris Garvey, a son, Bobby Garvey; a daughter; Betty Garvey; and a brother Edgar Garvey, Detroit. He was the son of the late Mrs. E. E. Hager of Dyersburg. |
