Dyersburg State Gazette Thursday, October 29, 1964 Mrs. Gamble Dies Here Wednesday Mrs. Irene Gamble of Sorrell's Chapel, widow of Jeff Gamble, died at Parkview Hospital here at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning, Wednesday. She was 83. A native and lifelong Tennesseean, Mrs. Gamble was the daughter of Jimmy and Liza Singleterry Cooper. Her husband preceded her in death in 1949. She had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Clyde Armstrong at Sorrell's Chapel. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of South Dyersburg. Funeral services for Mrs. Gamble will be helo at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Friday, at Curry's Chapel. Her pastor, the Reverend W. E. Smith, will officiate. Burial will be in Mr. Vernon Cemetery at Unionville. Pall- bearers will be Jimmy Gamble, Johnny Gamble, Johnny Gamble, Ed Orman and Harold Pilgrim. J. W. Curry and Son will have charge of arrangements. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul Hipp, Dyersburg and Mrs. Clyde Armstrong, Sorrell's Chapel; four grandchildren; and two great-grand- children. |
